All harmonicas in Australia are stupid prices (Lee Oskars are AUD$60 (US$54) at the local music shop) but the chord harmonicas are unbelievable - the Hohner 48 chords are about $2.5k - they're half that in the US, but that's still way too much.
I got a Chinese (Swan) Compact 48 Chord which was $190 with free postage.  I figured that's a realistic price for  an 'experiment' in chord harmonica and convinced SWMBO it was a good Fathers Day present from her and the kids. 
Now that I've started to give it some serious time I can see it has draw and blow plates and is arranged in the circle of fifths.  Pity my brain isn't arranged that way - I think it might take a while before I instinctively go to the right place for the chord I'm after.  I'm using the kids' guitar chord charts for some songs I know and that seems to make it a bit easier too.
If all else fails at least its big enough to use as a weapon!

I hate this computer! I just wrote a novel about different ideas for a warm-up. It included hopping trains, converting semis and trailers, school buses converted to extravagant party buses, campground details, and a weekend idea about renting a nature center and jamming the whole weekend with Amish catering.

I tried to put a picture with it and lost everything.
