Lost another one this week

No, Friday,,,sadly, I did not.....

seems life does that a lot.... we do not do something....assuming the opportunity will continue to be there until we have more money , or more time... then it is too late.

I am making more effort these past few months to call people I care about...like Mom, Dad,, old friends or visit them,,, and get off the couch or out of the house or whatever ,...and do more,,, share more..

but it seems in modern life that there are more things than one can find time for...and more things that waste ones time...like telemarketers,,sifting thru  junk mail... lawn mowing.. getting the car serviced...getting involved in political discussions that go in circles... no one is changing my mind and I have found I can change no one elses.. and despite what either of us believe in strongly... the system is not affected by it anyway......
 and the biggest, most seductive  time waster of all..television....

my FD Lieutenant just said to me yesterday,, that at 70 years old...it was just a few years ago that he started to develop an ability to "just say NO" to a lot of things he used to spend time on that were not important in the big picture of his life.... so he would have time to do the things that he really wanted to do

in my case....hanging with Levon and his friends for an evening  was one of those things I surely did want to do..
